Which terminal your airline uses, what's changing with the new terminals, and how drop-off and pickup work — with pickup times from Connecticut and Westchester.
JFK is in the middle of the biggest rebuild in its history. Two brand-new terminals — Terminal 6 on the north side and the New Terminal One on the south side — are opening in phases, Terminals 1 and 7 are on their way out, and a lot of airlines are changing terminals along the way.
For anyone being dropped off or picked up, that means one thing: check your terminal the day before, and give your car service the flight number rather than the terminal. This guide covers where the major airlines fly from today, what's changing, and how drop-off and pickup work — with pickup times from the Connecticut and Westchester towns we serve.
This is where the major airlines operate as of late 2026. Because airlines are moving as the new terminals open, always confirm on your boarding pass or in the airline app.
| Terminal | Airlines |
|---|---|
| Terminal 4 | Delta's JFK hub, plus a long list of international airlines — among them Emirates, Virgin Atlantic, KLM, Singapore Airlines, El Al, Air India, Aeromexico, Copa, LATAM and WestJet. |
| Terminal 8 | American Airlines and its oneworld partners — British Airways, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Qatar Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Alaska and others. |
| Terminal 5 | JetBlue's home terminal (with some JetBlue flights also using Terminals 4 and 6). |
| Terminal 1 | Many European and Asian airlines — Air France, Lufthansa, SWISS, Korean Air, Turkish Airlines, ITA Airways, LOT and others. Most of them are moving to the New Terminal One or Terminal 6 as those open. |
| Terminal 7 | Being retired. It still handles a group of airlines — Aer Lingus, Air Canada, ANA, Icelandair and others — that are moving to Terminal 6 in phases. |
| Terminal 6 (new) | JetBlue's new partner terminal, opening its first gates in phases. Airlines including Lufthansa, SWISS, Air Canada, ANA, Aer Lingus, Avianca and Cathay Pacific have announced moves there. |
| New Terminal One (new) | The big new international terminal on the south side of the airport. In September 2026 its operator said the first phase would open to passengers in early 2027; Air France, KLM, Korean Air, Turkish Airlines and Etihad are among the airlines moving in. |
Terminal assignments change through 2026–2027 as Terminal 6 and the New Terminal One open. Your airline's app is the final word.
Your chauffeur drives straight to the departures level of your terminal. With construction around the Central Terminal Area, the road layout changes from time to time — we allow for it in the pickup time, and the driver follows the current signs.
The slow parts of the trip from Connecticut and Westchester are rarely inside the airport. They're the Van Wyck Expressway and the bridge approaches — the Whitestone and the Throgs Neck — especially on weekday afternoons from about 3 to 7 PM, when the evening flights to Europe are boarding.
Flying overseas? Most airlines close international check-in 60 minutes before departure, and bag drop lines in Terminals 1, 4 and 8 can be long in the late afternoon. That's why we plan on 3 hours at the airport for international flights.
Pickup time before departure = the longest usual drive from your town + 2 hours at JFK for a domestic flight or + 3 hours for an international one, rounded up to the next 15 minutes. Tap a town for its full route page.

We track your flight from the moment you book. If it's early or late, the car adjusts — and the 1 hour of free waiting starts when you actually land, not at the scheduled time.
Most pickups are curbside at the arrivals level of your terminal: you text when you have your bags, the chauffeur pulls up, and you're on your way — no long walk to a parking garage. If you'd rather be met inside the terminal with a name sign, ask for meet & greet when you book.
On international arrivals, passport control and baggage usually take 30–60 minutes, more in the evening rush. Global Entry and the Mobile Passport Control app can cut that down considerably.
The AirTrain links all JFK terminals and is free within the airport — it's the easiest way to change terminals between flights. It only charges a fare at Jamaica and Howard Beach, where it connects to the subway and the LIRR.
Picking up a family member and collecting a second traveler at another terminal? Tell us both flight numbers; we can do two terminals in one trip.
