Terminal A, B or C? Newark's airlines, the AirTrain work and how pickup works โ with pickup times from Connecticut and Westchester.
Newark Liberty is United's New York hub and one of the busiest international gateways in the country. It has three terminals: the new Terminal A (opened in 2023), Terminal B for most foreign airlines, and Terminal C, which is all United.
From Connecticut and Westchester, Newark is usually the longest of the big three airports to reach โ the trip crosses the Hudson on the George Washington Bridge or the Mario Cuomo Bridge โ but it's often the one with the nonstop flight you want, especially on United.
As of late 2026, here's where the main airlines operate at Newark. United uses Terminal C for almost everything, with some flights in A and some international arrivals in B.
| Terminal | Airlines |
|---|---|
| Terminal A | The newest terminal (2023): Air Canada, American Airlines, Delta, JetBlue and some United domestic flights. |
| Terminal B | Most foreign airlines โ British Airways, Lufthansa, SWISS, Air France, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Air India, TAP, El Al, Turkish Airlines, Icelandair, SAS, LOT and others โ plus Alaska, Frontier and several low-cost carriers. |
| Terminal C | United Airlines' hub โ domestic and international departures, and most United arrivals. |
Airlines change terminals from time to time โ your boarding pass or airline app is the final word.
From Connecticut and southern Westchester the car usually takes I-95 to the George Washington Bridge and the New Jersey Turnpike south; from northern Westchester, I-287 over the Mario Cuomo Bridge and the Garden State Parkway. Your chauffeur picks whichever crossing is moving at the time.
The bridges are the variable, not the airport: the GWB and the Cross Bronx approach are slowest on weekday afternoons and Friday evenings. We build that into the pickup time.
Terminal C is United's โ the car stops at the United departures entrance. For Terminal B, tell us the airline: check-in is spread over several levels.
Pickup time before departure = the longest usual drive from your town + 2 hours at Newark for a domestic flight or + 3 hours for an international one, rounded up to the next 15 minutes. Tap a town for its full route page.

We track your flight and the 1 hour of free waiting starts when you land. Pre-arranged cars meet passengers at the Port Authority's designated pickup area at each terminal; we'll send you the exact spot and the chauffeur's details before you land.
International arrivals usually take 30โ60 minutes for passport control and bags โ longer at the evening peak. Some United international flights arrive at Terminal B instead of C, so we follow your actual arrival gate.
Meet & greet inside the terminal with a name sign is available on request.
Newark's original AirTrain monorail is being replaced by a new system that the Port Authority expects to open around 2030. During construction, weekday shuttle buses (roughly 5 AM to 3 PM) replace the AirTrain between the Newark Airport rail station and parking lot P4, while the AirTrain keeps running between the terminals and parking.
In practice that makes the train trip from Connecticut โ Metro-North to Grand Central, across to Penn Station, NJ Transit to the airport, then a shuttle or the AirTrain โ longer than ever. A car goes terminal-to-door, with the bridge and Turnpike tolls already in the price.
