Sandy Hook, CT
to TEB Airport.

Lake Zoar and the Housatonic River are close to Sandy Hook, and some of our pickups are lake houses on the shore. Sandy Hook is part of Newtown, so pickups anywhere in the rest of Newtown are the same easy booking.

Leaving Sandy Hook, the car heads onto I-84 at Exit 10, or down Route 34 and Route 25. From there to TEB it's I-684 and I-287 over the Mario Cuomo Bridge, then south through Bergen County to Teterboro. That's about 64 mi — 1 hr 18 min at the quiet hours, 1 hr 38 min when the Mario Cuomo Bridge is backed up.

Teterboro isn't the nearest airport to Sandy Hook — that's HPN, about 50 min away — but it's often the one with the right flight. You get one fixed price for Sandy Hook to TEB before you book, tolls included.

Flying private from Teterboro means going to an FBO instead of a terminal. Your charter operator or flight department will tell you which; give us the name and the tail number and we'll handle the rest from Sandy Hook.

Your chauffeur can drive right to the FBO entrance, so bags go straight from the car to the aircraft crew.

For a charter out of Teterboro, a pickup in Sandy Hook about 2 hr before departure gets you to the FBO with time to spare.

Bridge traffic into New Jersey is the only real variable on a Teterboro run. If your flight leaves in the late afternoon, give the Mario Cuomo Bridge extra room.

• The FBO and the tail number
• Number of people and suitcases, so we send the right car
• Car seats, if you're traveling with small children
• The building entrance, if it isn't obvious from the street
• Any extra stop on the way
• The return flight, if you'd like the ride home booked too
